This is a lovely hotel with European ambiance. Most rooms have wrought iron Juliette balconies, there are wrought iron handrails, even a wrought iron sign with wrought iron roses. The lobby has plush carpets, eclectic furnishings and art as well as board games and wine and cheese offerings at around 5. The courtyard pool is welcomingly warm and surrounded by sculptures. The courtyard also is equipped with ay jacuzzi and koi pond with a koi fountain. The rooms are furnished with a melange of antiques and other furniture. Our room had a king and twin bed as well as a chaise lounge. There was a table and chairs in the eating nook adjacent to what was advertised to be a kitchen and it almost was. There was a fair size refrigerator freezer, a large trash can upper and lower kitchen cabinet with a sink. Inside the drawers was a set of flatware for three, but not a single spoon be it table or tea. There were 3 of 4 mismatched cups and platic glasses, but nothing to heat food with. Although there was sppace for a range, it was empty, and there was no stive, no oven, no microwave. This was disappointing, as knowing there was a kitchen, we'd brought things to make a pastry wrapped brie. The bathroom was good size and hot water lasted. There was also a dressing area, two balconies and a very large tv that didn't get any local channels, and there was no sound when we tried to get onto our Netflix and prime accounts. There was plenty of sound on the QVC and paid commercial channels that were available. Perhaps it was just the three of us, though no one at the front knew either. The staff was as helpful as they could be otherwise.

This is the best value in Santa Barbara, if you can pay $100-200 to be right on the beach and walkable distance to everything! Either at A La Mar or Villa Rosa Inn, they are right next to each other. It’s European style, family friendly, great pool, fun and old world decor. A unique and charming experience, not a standard brand name hotel. The staff is very nice and accommodating. Late checkout. Free breakfast in the morning. Fireplace in the lobby. Very homey. Overall a delight.

Booked and stayed on the same day/night for an impromptu night in Santa Barbara. The theme was great and carried throughout the hotel into the rooms. Brilliant location and easy free parking. Thought it might have been noisy as it's just off the front strip, but needn't have worried. Once the windows and doors were shut, it was really quiet. Comfortable big bed and a good strong shower with toiletries available and clean fresh towels.

What a beautiful Inn! It was warm, inviting, and central to downtown Santa Barbara as well as only a block from the beach and pier! The room was spectacular, and the balcony overlooked the pool. It will be my go-to for Santa Barbara! I didn't drive at all during my entire stay because everything was within walking distance.

Lois

Great location, very comfortable, lovely rooms and I particularly liked the little balcony which looked out on to the ocean. That breakfast was included was great.
